The main attraction of Lahaina Beach House is its front deck, which has nothing obscuring a broad ocean view. Well, other than Mr. Pole; a tall, gray light-pole who is known as a veteran photo bomber. Please be patient while I pay him a brief tribute. He reminds me of a proud, yet lonely old man who stands guard over the boardwalk, day and night. Even though he is constantly barraged by complaints from the thousands of photographers who sweep through each year, he still graces their refrigerator photos.

Therefore, he is not just any pole, he is Mr. Pole.
